Our Stories, Our Worries: Hong Kong's political development from a historical perspective
We published our official magazine Our Time (Volume 13 Issue 1) in October 2009. The main body of this issue begins with a useful timeline of key events in the history of Hong Kong, followed by articles on the 1967 riots and the Sino-British Joint Declaration. After that we have a line up of four interviews on the current development and future aspirations of Hong Kong. Finally, our issue ends with a new book reviews section.
The aim of Our Time is to stimulate a wave of contemplation on the readers' part. How has Hong Kong been coping in the last few years, and can we make predictions as to her trajectory of development, so that we can gear ourselves up for the upcoming changes? Why are we trying to boost local tourism as we demolish historical relicts like the Star Ferry Pier? And most of all, where is that alleged status quo of the next 40 years leading us to?
