In light of major opposition to the Extradition Bill in Hong Kong, 27 members of CUHKCAS have brought forward a proposal to dispose of the China Fund. The China Fund was raised in 1989 by a group of Cambridge students with a view to promote human rights and democracy in Hong Kong and China through rational and non-violent means. Attached here is the proposal to dispose of China Fund. The voting period for the proposal will begin from 00:00 HKT on the 6th August, 2019, and will last for 7 days, till 23:59 HKT on the 19th August, 2019. Members are allowed to change their votes within the voting period.

Voting will be conducted through a Google Form. Eligible members should have received an email with a link to vote. If a member has not received an email and wish to vote, please let us know as soon as possible and we will follow up on it. Note that this does not guarantee your eligibility to vote, and we will reserve the right to make a final decision, according to section 13.3.4 of the constitution. Should a member wish to change their votes, they can do so by using the same Google Form and edit your response, rather than submitting a new response. Any new response will be disregarded. If you have any questions about the voting procedure, contact us immediately. The voting period ends on the 19th August at 23:59 HKT. No late votes or changes to votes after the voting period will be entertained.

According to the CUHKCAS constitution, the proposal will be approved if it is supported by at least 20% of all eligible members and at least 2/3 of the members who voted in the referendum, with the consent of the Senior Treasurer. The proposal will then be effected by the Executive Committee accordingly.
